Article 1 Scope
These Terms of Use set forth the conditions governing the creation, publication, viewing, automatic grading, retrying of incorrectly answered questions, sharing via public URLs, and use through mask data files in QuizTXT.
Article 2 Agreement to the Terms
By reviewing these Terms of Use and clicking “Agree to the Terms and Publish,” the user is deemed to have agreed to these Terms of Use.
Article 3 Service Description
- Users may upload a text file created in the prescribed format and publish the QuizTXT on the web.
- Published QuizTXT content can be accessed from websites, PDF teaching materials, and other sources using the issued public URL.
- QuizTXT provides automatic grading and lets users retry only the questions they answered incorrectly.
- The free version of QuizTXT allows up to 10 questions per QuizTXT.
- When publishing a QuizTXT, an email address must be verified for each publication in order to deter defamation, harassment, and other inappropriate publication.
- The verified email address is stored within the relevant QuizTXT data as a marker for identifying the publisher. The email address is not displayed on QuizTXT screens.
- The email address is not used to register a creator account, manage a list of previously created QuizTXT items, modify content, or reissue public URLs.
- QuizTXT does not store respondents’ names, email addresses, individual scores, or learning histories. However, information required for retries during the current attempt may be retained temporarily.
Article 4 Responsibility for Submitted Content
- Users may submit only content they created themselves or content they are legally authorized to use and publish.
- Users must ensure that submitted content does not infringe any third party’s copyright, trademark rights, portrait rights, privacy, or other rights.
- If a dispute with a third party arises in connection with submitted content, the user is responsible for resolving it at their own expense.
Article 5 Rights to Submitted Content
- Rights to submitted content remain with the submitter or other legitimate rights holder.
- Users grant the operator a royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use submitted content to the extent necessary to store, reproduce, convert, publicly transmit, and display it through the service.
Article 6 Commercial Use
- Users may use QuizTXT for both commercial and non-commercial purposes with content they created or are legally authorized to use.
- Tutoring schools, schools, companies, YouTubers, teaching-material creators, and other businesses may use QuizTXT in classes, training, videos, websites, paid courses, and other business activities.
- The QuizTXT system itself may not be sold, sublicensed, rented, or reoffered as a self-developed service without the operator’s prior consent.
- A public URL or right of use alone may not be sold as a standalone product.
Article 7 Prohibited Conduct
Users must not engage in any of the following conduct:
- Publishing content that violates laws, regulations, or public order and morals
- Publishing content that infringes the rights of third parties
- Conduct intended for deception, fraud, impersonation, defamation, or discrimination
- Distributing harmful programs, improperly redirecting users to external sites, or otherwise putting users at risk
- Mass creation, mass posting, or excessive access by automated means
- Conduct that interferes with operation of the service or its servers
- Other conduct that the operator determines to be inappropriate
Article 8 Publication Period and Deletion of the Free Version
- A free QuizTXT becomes available on the web once the publication process is complete.
- As a general rule, a free QuizTXT will be stored for one year from its publication date if a user operates it until a perfect score is achieved within 24 hours after publication.
- A free QuizTXT for which no operation resulting in a perfect score is confirmed within 24 hours after publication may be deleted without notice.
- After that, a free QuizTXT that is not accessed for one year will be deleted. If it is accessed, the storage period is extended for one year from the date of that access.
- If the storage period or other conditions for the free version are changed in the future, the revised conditions will, in principle, apply to QuizTXT items newly created after the change.
- Even during the storage period, a QuizTXT may be unpublished or deleted when necessary for reasons such as violations of these Terms, infringement of rights, system maintenance, incident response, or other operational needs.
- After the storage period ends, a free QuizTXT may be deleted without notice.
Article 9 Storage and Management of the Free Version
- The free version has no backup function, and restoration of submitted content or published QuizTXT items is not guaranteed.
- The free version does not support changing content after publication, viewing usage history, displaying a list of created QuizTXT items, or reissuing public URLs.
- The email address verified at publication is stored within each QuizTXT item as a marker for identifying the publisher, but it is not displayed on QuizTXT screens.
- The stored email address is used for verification and necessary contact if defamation, harassment, rights infringement, violation of these Terms, or other problems occur.
- The email address is not registered as an account for managing QuizTXT. Therefore, it cannot be used to modify content, delete content, reissue a public URL, or display a list of created QuizTXT items.
- Users must retain the original text file used for upload and the public URL themselves.
- Data may be lost, damaged, or become unrecoverable due to system failures, maintenance, operational errors, or other reasons.
Article 10 Changes and Suspension of the Service
The operator may, when necessary due to maintenance, failures, security measures, changes in laws or regulations, or other reasons, change, suspend, or terminate all or part of the service without prior notice.
Article 11 Disclaimer and Liability
- The operator does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, continuity, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted operation of the service.
- Users use the service at their own judgment and responsibility.
- Except in cases of intentional misconduct or gross negligence by the operator, the operator is not liable for damages arising from use of or inability to use the service. This does not apply where the operator is liable under applicable law.
Article 12 Reports of Rights Infringement and Other Violations
- A person who believes that a published QuizTXT contains defamation, harassment, personal information, a privacy violation, copyright infringement, or another violation of these Terms may report it to the operator through the designated reporting screen.
- To deter false or harassing reports, a reporter must enter an email address and open the reporting link sent to that address before entering the report details.
- The reporter’s email address is used to verify the report, request additional information, and communicate the outcome. As a general rule, it is not disclosed to the publisher who is the subject of the report, except where disclosure is required by law.
- After reviewing a report, the operator may take measures such as unpublishing or deleting content as necessary. A report alone does not automatically result in immediate unpublishing or deletion.
- False reports, reports intended to harass, mass reports with identical content, and other inappropriate reports are prohibited.
Article 13 Changes to the Terms
The operator may amend these Terms of Use when necessary due to changes in laws or regulations, changes to the service, or other reasons. The amended Terms apply from the time they are posted on the service or from a separately specified effective date.
Article 14 Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of Japan. If a dispute arises in connection with the service, to the extent permitted by law, the court having jurisdiction over the operator’s location will be the agreed court of first instance.
As a general rule, the free version is stored for one year from the publication date if it is operated until a perfect score is achieved within 24 hours after publication. After that, items not accessed for one year are subject to deletion. Backup, viewing usage history, and changing content after publication are not supported. Be sure to keep the original text file and public URL yourself.
